18 YEARS!

MED Theatre members, staff, friends and an invited audience enjoyed the celebration of the launch of our Education Programme, the opening of the new part of our studio, and MED's 18th Birthday all rolled into one!  The festivities took place at Moretonhampstead Parish Hall on Thursday 25th January 2007.

Thank you to all those who took the time to share the evening with us and to those who sent their good wishes. It was a very special occasion for MED Theatre and we are very pleased that people responded so warmly. 

For those who were able to attend, we had a cream tea waiting from 6:30pm, accompanied by live guitar music from Harry Avis (thanks Harry!). Performances by MED Community Company took place from 7:00pm.  The audience enjoyed excerpts from the first MED Theatre production (from the date of registration as a charity), The Salmon.  This was followed by a dance, music and text presentation from the 2006 production, High Plateau. The audience then became the active participants in the courtroom scene of our Education production, The Miller's Tale. Finally, performances were rounded up with a sneak preview from our upcoming community production of Cassiterides - The Romans on Dartmoor.

For those that were able to stay - we then enjoyed some food and drinks and drank a toast to the future of MED!  Cheers!
