Trees
- a family learning project
MED
Theatre did a series of workshops that are making up the ecology
based family learning project, Trees.
In
the first workshop, Living Trees, thirteen
adult and child participants explored how important trees are to
our every day lives and connections to climate change. They used
drama and storytelling to unravel folklore and poetry about trees
with professionals from MED Theatre on Saturday 18th September 2010
in Moretonhampstead Parish Hall.
In
the second workshop, Tree Stories, nineteen participants
ranging through three generations dramatised a variety of stories
about trees, provoking responses about their views on trees which
they wouldn't have necessarily explored, as well as having a chance
for these different generations to work together as equals. The
workshop took place at Castle Drogo (National Trust) on Friday 25th
February 2011.
The
third workshop in the project took place at the Full Bloom Festival
in the National Trust orchard at Parke near Bovey Tracey.
