PAUL HAMLYN FOUNDATION FUNDED PROJECT

MED Theatre’s education programme is a crucial element of our ongoing work. We were delighted to have been given funding by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation for a specially designed project, ‘Developing Drama in Rural Devon Schools’.

The aim of this project, primarily, was to help local schools to embed arts-based learning into their teaching across the curriculum, using artistic skills to make all studies more accessible and enjoyable for both teachers and pupils. We hope to enable education settings to teach the arts in conjunction with science, humanities and technology, with creativity at the centre of the learning process.

As part of this project we were able to work closely with six primary schools and three secondary schools in the South West on specially designed projects, delivered by MED Theatre.

As a part of this project, MED Theatre designed a CPD course and resource pack for teachers and school staff. We would like this to be available to anybody who might find it useful, and especially those who would like to embed arts-based teaching in their work. You can access a PDF copy of the resource using the button above.

STAFF CPD AND NETWORKING

In collaboration with schools, MED Theatre is designing a half-day CPD course for teaching staff. A new digital network will also be set up for Devon based teachers and artists to encourage sharing and collaborations.
