Healing stories

new group sessions for adults

MED Theatre is delighted to invite adult participants to explore traditional Dartmoor and Devon stories through a new series of interactive, group-based workshops. These initial sessions will use creative action methods, including dramatherapy techniques, to support emotional wellbeing, personal growth, and professional development, and to give adults an opportunity to creatively explore Devon’s rich folklore.

Led by Martin Gill, a Health Professions Council and UKCP-registered practitioner, in collaboration with the MED Theatre team of professional applied theatre facilitators.

Where and when?

• Last Thursday of each month, 7–9pm, from January 2026

• MED Theatre studio, Moretonhampstead (TQ138NF)

About the Modalities/Terminology:

Creative Action Methods
Techniques using artistic, playful approaches (like drawing, role-play, storytelling) to solve problems, generate ideas, build skills, facilitate expression, and drive social change.

Dramatherapy
Using the Sesame method, integrating movement, myth, and metaphor. Sessions will invite participants to engage with storytelling, folk wisdom, and symbolic enactment to consider their personal experiences and develop self-understanding without any need for disclosure or in-depth exploration.

This is not a therapy group, however there will be a therapeutic element to the work we will do together. Participation is at your own pace and comfort level and you will not be pressured to take part in any activity or exercise.
