HOPE (2011)

created for the edge sculpture trail festival

Hope (AKA Orpheus Eurydice) was created for the Edge Exhibition at High Heathercombe on Dartmoor. The site-specific performance took place in a forest glade, using a pond as a natural backdrop.  Created on a Saturday in September 2011, Hope was an impromptu performance using music, dance and poetry to illustrate the exhibition’s theme of hope. Young emerging artists Linnea Duckworth (dancer), Harry Avis (guitarist), and Amy Young (violinist) enchanted passing audiences, even two on horseback! The project was coordinated by composer Gillian Webster and became a precursor to MED Theatre’s later dance drama Adder.
