TRADITIONAL DARTMOOR REVEL

A CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION FOR THE COMMUNITY

Join us again this November for a traditional Dartmoor revel, a celebration of moorland life at Christmas time that follows the light switch on event in Moretonhampstead.

WHY A ‘REVEL’?
In past years we have hosted events called ‘ceilidhs’, but this is traditionally a Gaelic name for a folk dance event. In a recent chat with Dr. Tom Greeves he informed us that dances on Dartmoor were traditionally known as ‘revels’ and so we have decided to adopt this name instead!
